The samos® PRO COMPACT starter set from Wieland Electric makes it quick and easy to implement safety functions.

The safety of machinery is a key factor in occupational health and safety and will continue to gain in importance in the future in view of the rapid pace of technological progress. This calls for solutions with which security functions can be easily implemented and integrated into the application. This is exactly where Wieland Electric comes in with its samos® PRO COMPACT starter kit, which includes the samos® PRO COMPACT safety control unit, a network and USB cable, an SD card and the samos® PLAN safety software. This not only makes it possible to exploit the advantages of a powerful control system in the smallest of spaces, but also to intuitively parameterize safety functions without the need for complex programs.

Maximum security in the smallest space  

With a width of just 45 millimeters, the main module with 16 safe inputs and outputs combines flexibility and safety in one device. The compact design saves space in the control cabinet and in storage. At the same time, the samos® PRO COMPACT can be expanded with up to 12 digital I/O modules. Integrated Ethernet protocols enable connection to the standard controller or the user interface. In addition to an Ethernet interface, the safety controller has mini-USB and SD card ports. This allows the machine to be programmed flexibly. At the same time, programs can be quickly duplicated or exchanged. This speeds up commissioning and reduces machine downtimes enormously. 

The starter kit also includes a network cable and a USB cable. These ensure seamless communication between the devices and guarantee smooth data transmission. The security program can be easily installed using the SD card supplied.

Parameterize safety functions easily  

With samos® PLAN 6, Wieland Electric also offers powerful programming software. The intuitive programming tool has an extensive library of TÜV-certified function blocks that contain typical, application-specific safety functions. Simple handling via drag & drop - true to the motto" parameterization instead of programming" - significantly reduces engineering effort, project planning time and also the possibility of errors. 

Whether you are an electrical designer, PLC programmer or safety expert - anyone using samos® PLAN 6 does not need any product knowledge to get started and can quickly verify and validate safety functions. In addition, users benefit from simple and uncomplicated documentation and save time with the CE declaration of the machine.
