The structured cabling of the hotel rooms can be realised quickly and easily with a 10 mm² gesis® NRG flat cable. Prefabricated distributors are used in the rooms, each of which is fed by the flat cable. If required, automation systems such as KNX or similar systems can also be integrated into the overall system via additional plug-in coding.
ROOM INSTALLATION WITH DISTRIBUTOR AND INTEGRATED AUTOMATION SOLUTION
The pre-assembled and pluggable system distributor in the hotel room can be customised. It serves as an interface to the pluggable infrastructure in the room and connects all cables to the electrical consumers such as sockets and lights. If prefabricated modules are used, particularly in wet rooms, the distributor could already be integrated, which would save additional installation work.

The hotel rooms are supplied via a flexible busbar with a high wire cross-section. This ensures clear structures in the installation level of the corridor area.
LIGHTING
Our recommendations and services for lighting cabling:
- In the "lighting" trade, we focus on the cabling of luminaires, using distribution blocks and possibly integrating dedicated infrastructure cabling and local operating or motion sensors (conventional via KNX or DALI).
- Due to the considerable installation effort and use of raw materials, we recommend replacing the traditional method of installing automation devices centrally with decentralized actuators. Specifically, we do this with system distributors, which we adapt to the customer's specific requirements.
- If no I&C technology is required, we recommend the use of gesis® FLEX. This KNX-based system can also handle sun protection and the integration of conventional switches.

The connection technology of the luminaires can be freely selected: from a connection cable pre-assembled by the luminaire manufacturer with gesis® CLASSIC to a classic device connection (snap-in) and a flexible adapter.
LIGHTING CABLING - REGULATED, DALI OR 1-10 V
The demands placed on modern hotels are increasing, and flexible control of individual luminaires or groups of luminaires is required depending on the time of day and room usage. We take care of the simple and safe power and signal supply: With our gesis® CLASSIC cables, distributors and connection components, DALI luminaires, for example, can be supplied in the simplest possible way. The connection technology for the luminaires can be selected flexibly.
DECENTRALIZED ROOM AUTOMATION
Our recommendations and services for room automation:
- If the project is limited to the room automation functions of lighting, blinds, the control of heating and cooling valves and the integration of conventional push buttons, we recommend the use of gesis® FLEX and KNX sensor technology.
- If I&C technology is also used in addition to these functions, for example for air conditioning or controlling the fresh air supply, we will install the necessary automation devices in a system distributor and make it completely pluggable.
- Both systems are characterized by their strictly decentralized structure and thus contribute to the conservation of resources right from the installation phase.

DECENTRALIZED ROOM AUTOMATION (KNX)
For Wieland, the "room automation" trade is all about decentralized KNX building automation. We focus on gesis® FLEX, but this can also involve system distributors with KNX components from third-party manufacturers. "Room automation" because KNX systems usually only implement local regulation and control. This is absolutely sufficient for the vast majority of applications in small to medium-sized buildings.

- The advantage of a decentralized installation becomes particularly clear in this application. In conventional systems (4-wire wiring), each motor must be controlled individually, which leads to considerable wiring effort.
- We recommend the use of gesis® FLEX here. This KNX-based system also enables the integration of lighting control.
- When the SMI (Standard Motor Interface for blind applications) bus system is used, up to 16 drives can be connected in parallel. For this purpose, we use our 5-pole systems. Depending on the system situation, our flat cables gesis® NRG, cable systems such as gesis® CLASSIC, or outdoors RST® MINI fit.
SUN PROTECTION AND SHADING IN HOTEL ROOMS
WINDOW BLINDS (KNX, SMI)
Sun shading devices make a significant contribution to room comfort. We offer you resource-saving installation options for electrotechnical installation. With our decentralized KNX systems gesis® FLEX, you can control 230 V and 24 V DC drives and, if required, provide decentralized protection. Ideally, gesis® FLEX is supplied via a 7-pole gesis® NRG flat cable, which provides both three-phase current and the KNX network. For the control of SMI drives, we rely on electronics from partners and thus offer you a completely pluggable system from automation to motor connection.
